***************************************************
* The Bottom Line...
***************************************************
If you receive an email something like the following, do NOT
go to the web site to get your greeting card.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+ JohnDoe has sent you a greeting card -- a postcard from
+ Friend-Greetings.com. You can pickup your greeting card at
+ Friend-Greetings.com by clicking on the link below.
+
+    OR
+
+ I sent you a greeting card.  Please pick it up.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you do, you will be presented with a EULA (End User License
Agreement).  If you accept the EULA, you will end up installing
what is basically a worm virus that emails everyone in your address
book.

Many anti-virus software manufacturers are aren't calling this
one a worm because it does provide the EULA which does say that
this worm will email itself to eveyone you know, thereby doing
much more than displaying a personal greeting card to you only.
So, legally, they do have a leg to stand on because the user has to
agree to allow the greeting card to carry out its payload.

And we thought Microsoft EULA's were sneaky...

So, basically, the EULA for the FriendGreetings card
is for software that is supposedly required to view
the "greeting card", and since 99% of people never read any
EULA they are asked to click to agree to, they go ahead and
click it, thereby authorizing the program to infect
their system and spread itself to others.

***************************************************
* What You Should Do
***************************************************
1. Warn the user that sent you the "greeting card" that they
  now have this worm on their system and forward them this email.

2. Use the ADD/REMOVE Programs Control Panel in Windows to
  remove these programs from your system:
     - Friend Greetings application, and...
     - WinSrv Reg application.
  This will uninstall the worm.

3. Remember that nearly all viruses and worms arrive in
  emails that appear to come from someone you know!

******** APPENDIX - Handy How-To Tips **********

  * How To Boot into Safe Mode

Shut the computer down so that the power is off.

Turn the computer on, wait 1 second and begin pressing the F8 key
on the keyboard, once every second repeatedly. Do this until
the Windows Startup Menu appears. If you get a keyboard
error, press F1 to resume and then continue pressing the
F8 key once every second, or your PC may tell you to press another key for BIOS setup.

Select Safe Mode from the Windows Startup Menu, then press
the Enter key on the keyboard.

Windows will then boot into Safe Mode.
NOTE: This may take longer than a normal boot.

At the end of the boot process a dialog box will appear
informing you that Windows is in Safe Mode. Click OK on this dialog box.

Windows is now in Safe Mode.

If you miss hitting the F8 at the right time, Windows will boot
normally and you will not see the "Safe Mode" message.  In this
case, start from the top of these instructions until you get the
boot menu screen where you can choose "Safe Mode".  This can be
a little tricky the first time you do it.
