* The Bottom Line...
***************************************************
In the hundreds of SPAM emails you get, if you have been
clicking their "unsubscribe link", you have simply told
the spammers that they have a valid email address for you
and you will simply get more spam. So, it's never been a
good idea to click SPAM "unsubscribe" links. But now,
more than ever, "unsubscribe" links in SPAM have become
a formidable risk that you must avoid.
The reason for this new danger is that now a new use for
the "unsubscribe" links in SPAM emails is to direct you
to a booby-trapped web page which is desigend to infect your
computer with any number of malwares or perform other
corruption of your computer.
***************************************************
* What You Should Do
***************************************************
1. NEVER click "unsubscribe" in SPAM emails.
2. ABSOLUTELY make sure your antivirus stays up to date!
3. Run at least two different SpyWare Removers every
2 or 3 days.
4. Install a personal firewall. VACM recommends the
#1 personal firewall, much more effective than the
one in Windows XP, Norton's firewall and all others.
